Key to the Form Guide: The form colum indicates the last 6 matches. The home team is listed first. The “Value Odds” column indicates the odds required to gain value according to the “ASAP Ratings.” The “ASAP Margin” column forecasts the likely winning margin based on the “ASAP Ratings.”

The “Graph”: The graph tracks the trend of the ratings (the trend of the team performance through the season between the displayed dates) and indicates the future margin before the addition of home advantage points for today's game.

The “ASAP Rating”: After each game, teams record a computerised rating. This rating is based on the scoring mechanism of the sport. Factors which go towards the rating include points differenctial and home/awa percentages. What this means is the “ASAP Rating” is able to define the likely difference in performance quality between one team/player and another for tomorrow's game. For example…

If the Crusaders are rated 34 and the Chiefs are rated 23 at any point in time it would mean the Crusaders should defeat the Chiefs 11 points tomorrow on a level playing field…before the inclusion of match day factors, computerised home advantage, etc.

The great thing for all “Virtual Rugby” players is that the ratings allow you to identify which teams are performing best particularly early and mid season regardless of the points table. Equally, they enable the prediction of a likely score and value odds. (What the odds should be for a sports better to gain value on either side.)
